Ashley Fino

Full-time Staff RN (she/her)

Ashley has been proudly serving the Buffalo community as a registered nurse since 2012. She earned her nursing degrees from Trocaire College and Daemen College, building experience across a variety of healthcare settings.

Her passion for birth work began while researching fertility and birth for her younger self. She stumbled into the world of evidence-based care and quickly became obsessed, in the best way. Ashley joined Fika Midwifery in the fall of 2019 while working in labor and delivery at a local hospital, and transitioned to full-time in April 2022.

She has attended hospital births, home births, and her favorite, birth center births. Ashley brings a holistic, heart-forward approach to care, believing that birth is as much emotional and spiritual as it is physical.

Deeply committed to education and community connection, Ashley is passionate about sharing the midwifery model of care. She leads Fika’s birth center orientation sessions and welcomes anyone curious about this approach to join and learn more. She considers it a privilege to teach and engage with families, providers, and anyone eager to explore a more individualized model of care.

Ashley lives with her husband, a fluffy Great Pyrenees pup named Folsom, and a Norwegian Forest cat named Azalea. When she’s not at a birth, you can usually find her out in nature, tending to her new favorite garden filled with peonies and hydrangeas, reading, or deep in conversation over coffee, her true love language.

Meghan Terry

Per Diem Staff RN (she/her)

Meghan began her nursing career in 2014 receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from D’Youville College. She has always been passionate about pregnancy and childbirth and with recent experience at a local hospital on their Labor and Delivery unit, Meghan was excited to expand her knowledge and transition into the natural birth space with Fika Midwifery.

Having had 4 children herself, Meghan understands that each experience is unique and beautiful in its own way. She is dedicated to supporting moms in reaching their birth goals while helping them build confidence in their bodies.

In her free time, you can find Meghan cheering her kids on at their activities from gymnastics to soccer, volunteering in the PTA at their school, or enjoying a session of power yoga.

Rachel Leafe

Sonographer (she/her)

Rachel has been a sonographer in the Buffalo area for the past 13 years. After graduating from Trocaire College in 2010 she began working at a local Ob/Gyn office. That’s where her passion around pregnancy and birth began. Having experience in both the hospital and office setting, Rachel loves creating a welcoming environment and educating her patients on normal pregnancy and development. She has been with the Coit House since July 2022 and has recently transitioned to a full time role.

In her free time she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her two rescue dogs.
